The Melbourne Cup

Well what can i say? i have been so busy over the past 3 weeks i have not had time to write a blog entry! At the start of November i was a most privileged slave to be able to accompany Mistress Adira down to Melbourne to celebrate the Melbourne Cup! Prior to departing the Gold Coast W/we were not sure whether W/we would be attending the main attraction that is at Flemington or attending the lesser famous Yarra Valley raceday! Still it did not matter, i just love the Melbourne Cup, it is my race of the year and i spend a lot of time looking at all the lead up races and then make my decision! This year there was even more pressure than normal on me as not only was Mistress Adira going to be backing my selections but Her 24/7 slave had also given me some money to place on the Cup for him as well!

Luckily for U/us W/we were booked on Virgin Australia and not Qantas - W/we would have been very disappointed to have not been able to fly down to Melbourne. It was an early start for Mistress Adira and me - 6.05am departure from the Gold Coast and on this occasion i did not have to drive, Mistress had kindly agreed to let me have a few days free of any driving responsibilities so W/we were going to and from the Airport by taxi. Mistress Adira had planned Her outfit for the big day and i had my clothes all sorted - grey suit and purple shirt and tie for me. W/we arrived at the Airport just after 5.00am - everything was going well till W/we boarded the aircraft!

As W/we taxied out from the terminal and the safety demonstration was given W/we stopped - nothing happened for about 5 minutes. The pilot came on with the rather interesting news that the plane had a small electrical glitch. This meant the plane had to go back to the terminal where the power would be turned off for about 60 seconds and then restarted which hopefully would fix the electrical glitch! Well i knew that it worked for computers but did not know it worked for planes as well but it did work and about 20 minutes later W/we were up in the air and on O/our way to Melbourne!

Mistress Adira had arranged for U/us to stay with Her younger sister and her partner and the afternoon was spent eating and drinking and having a wonderful relaxing time! Mistress was sleeping in the spare room and i was to be sleeping on the floor at the foot of Her bed. What a lucky slave to be afforded such privileges and before W/we knew it, Cup Day had arrived and it was decided W/we would go to the Yarra Valley races! Mistress Adira and Her sister looked simply stunning and as W/we stepped onto the train for the first part of O/our trip to Yarra Glen, the girls on the train looked absolutely fabulous - Yarra Glen was going to be exciting!

W/we arrived at the Yarra Valley racetrack just before 11.30am and settled down for a most relaxing and enjoyable day at the track! Mistress Adira and Her sister had entered the Fashions Of The Field Competition so that was keeping my interest as Mistress Adira and Her sister paraded up and down the catwalk! After the Fashions On The Field was over it was time for the Cup! my main selection this year was Dunaden and in one of the most amazing finishes in the history of the race, Dunaden managed to stick his nose in front right on the line - and slave tate had managed to tip the Cup winner yet again! It was high 5's all round with Mistress Adira as W/we joined the winners queue to get O/our money! A few more glasses of champagne to celebrate O/our victory and everything was looking good for a very special celebration Mistress Adira had planned!

Mistress Adira was so confident that She would back the winner of this years Cup that She had bought a bottle of Moet and Chandon to celebrate backing the winner and it was to be a bottle of Moet for U/us when W/we arrived back home! Another night on the floor but it did not matter i was having a wonderful time after all if a person cannot be happy when they back the winner of the Melbourne Cup then they will never be happy in my opinion! Wednesday was a relatively quiet day after 2 hectic days of partying and Mistress Adira said Her good byes and W/we thanked O/our hosts for a wonderful 3 days and W/we headed off to the airport around 6.00pm for O/our 8.40pm flight!

The flight home was smooth and around 10.30pm on Wednesday my trip to Melbourne had finished. What a fabulous 3 days it was Mistress even that much better when W/we all managed to back the Cup winner as well Mistress!
